1. Scope & acceptance
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you (the “User”) and the maintainers of Ajax UI, an open-source project distributed by the Ajax UI Contributors (“Ajax UI”, “we”, or “us”). The Terms govern your access to and use of the Ajax UI website at ajax-ui.com, the component documentation, the hosted preset editor, the registry API, the CLI tool (@ajax-ui/cli), and the MCP servers (collectively, the “Service”).
You accept these Terms by creating an account, installing the CLI, calling the API, or otherwise using the Service. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
2. Service description
The Service provides:
- A catalog of UI components for React, Vue, Angular and Blazor, with per-component versioning.
- A hosted preset editor for customizing design tokens and component defaults.
- A read/write API for managing presets, components and templates.
- A CLI for installing components and applying presets into your project.
- MCP servers exposing the component catalog to AI-assisted editors.
Free and paid tiers are offered (see Section 7). The component source code itself is released under the MIT license and may be used independently of this Service.
3. Account & security
To use authenticated features (presets, API keys, paid plans, MCP private endpoints) you must create an account using a valid email address, Google OAuth, or GitHub OAuth. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account; users under 18 require a parent or legal guardian.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for every action taken with your account or API keys. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that show signs of compromise without prior notice.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape at abusive rates, or otherwise impair the Service’s infrastructure.
- Bypass rate limits, authentication, billing, or quota mechanisms.
- Upload, share, or distribute malware, phishing assets, or content that infringes intellectual property.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
- Resell or sublicense the hosted Service as a stand-alone product.
We may throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate this section. Egregious abuse may be reported to law enforcement.
5. User content
You retain ownership of the presets, templates, and component overrides you create (“User Content”). By marking a preset as public, you grant Ajax UI a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and let other users install it through the Service, for the duration the preset remains public.
You represent that your User Content does not infringe third-party rights and complies with Section 4. We may remove User Content that violates these Terms or that we receive a credible complaint about. Private presets are not shared with other users.
6. Intellectual property
The Ajax UI component source code is licensed under the MIT License. You may copy, modify, and redistribute it in accordance with that license. The trademarks “Ajax UI”, the logo, and the website’s editorial content (copy, illustrations, marketing material) remain our property and are not covered by the MIT license - written permission is required before reusing them in a way that could imply endorsement.
The hosted services (API, dashboard, preset editor backend, MCP servers, billing integration) are proprietary; nothing in these Terms grants you a license to their server-side source.
7. Subscriptions & billing
Paid plans (Pro, Team, Enterprise) are billed via Stripe. Recurring fees are charged in advance for each billing period (monthly or annual) at the price displayed at the time of purchase. Applicable taxes are added at checkout based on your billing address.
You authorize us, via Stripe, to charge your payment method for renewals until you cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep paid features until then. We do not issue refunds for partial periods except where required by applicable law. Stripe processes and stores your payment instrument - Ajax UI never receives your full card number.
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days’ advance notice for existing subscribers; the new price applies to renewals after the notice period.
8. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party providers - including GitHub OAuth, Google OAuth, Stripe (billing), Resend (transactional email), and Cloudflare (CDN, bot protection, file storage). Your use of these providers is also subject to their terms. See the Privacy Policy for the full list and the data we share with each one.
9. Availability & modifications
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, add or remove features, deprecate API endpoints, and version-bump components at any time. Material changes affecting paid features will be announced via email or in-app notice when reasonably possible.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that defects will be corrected, or that the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components. You assume the full risk of using the Service.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ajax UI’s aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (i) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (ii) USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption - even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability for consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ajax UI Contributors from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your User Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
13. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time from the dashboard or by emailing [email protected]. We may terminate or suspend your account immediately for material breach, abuse, or risk to the Service or other users. On termination, your access ends and your User Content may be deleted after a reasonable grace period - see the Privacy Policy for retention windows.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Any dispute arising from the Terms or the Service will be submitted to the courts of São Paulo, SP, Brazil, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws require otherwise.
